Surge Protection Device Type 2 Solar Panel 600V And Inverters

Surge Protection Device Type 2 Solar Panel 600V And Inverters

The inverters and solar panels must be protected against surge voltages. The PV-Guard-600 is rated to 40kA and 600V, ideal for  solar off-grid inverters.

The device is compliant with PV standard EN50539-11. The din rail mounted SPD is widely used in solar combiner boxes to protect the solar panels and inverters from surges in voltage and lightning. The protection method is a high-energy Varistor.

The risk of over-voltage is direct (lightning impact) or indirect effect (over-voltage on solar panels, inverter and other connections.

DC network: surge protectors are necessary, sometimes mandatory, on the continuous network in between the modules and the PV inverter
